David surrounded by speech bubbles coming from elsewhere, standing on grass beneath a blue sky.

Do you hear people talking when nobody else can hear them?

I’m David. I hear them all the time, and I live normally, positively, without medication and without paranoia. Here I tell how I got there (it wasn’t always like this), with simple tools and a community to talk about it.

Who is this site for?

The people going through it

Those who think they have schizophrenia, and those who call themselves victims of gangstalking or targeted individuals. Another way to read what they live, with no humiliation or confrontation, to get back calm, sleep and their plans.

Their loved ones

A resource to share, to reopen the conversation without having to approve, deny or mock what the person describes.

The institutions wrongly accused

Governments, intelligence services, police, neighbors… A place to point people to, for a constructive answer instead of one more confrontation.

Psychologists and psychiatrists

An inside perspective on what I experience. A resource to help understand this experience and talk about it with the people concerned.

The curious

Not personally affected, just curious? You can explore my experience, my stories, and another way of looking at the phenomenon.

David at Ipanema, facing the reader. He says: “You know this isn't new? Some people say it's a fairly modern technology from the '70s. But it's been around for a very, very long time, being able to hear people talking, communicate with them just by thinking, being able to picture things sometimes, have something like revelations, premonitions, etc.”

“Schizophrenia,” being a “targeted individual,” being a victim of “gangstalking,” and so on—in short, having the people of the phenomenon interact with us—is truly HORRIBLE. But actually…

Loads of nicknames

People have given them lots of nicknames throughout human history. And they’re funny people who play along! If you think they’re X, they’ll say things that make you think they’re X. If you get pulled into far-fetched theories, it can become a vicious spiral, because everything starts pointing that way.

  • the neighbours. You start hearing people talk, so you think they must be close by. Maybe among your loved ones (not in my case) or in the neighborhood. And they play along!
  • the mafia. Sometimes they speak provocatively, and it can feel huge. You may wonder if a powerful organization has you in its sights. There is also a lot of misinformation online, with people saying these are intimidation tactics used by mafia figures or traffickers. And they play along!
  • the perps. When you search online, you quickly find forums and social posts about gangstalking and targeted individuals. That’s where names like perps, gangstalkers, the CIA, and DARPA show up. According to some, it would be an extension of MK Ultra, or people with a fixation on stalking and harassing someone to death without ever showing themselves. And they play along!
  • demons. Some beliefs describe them as intelligent, malicious beings with a frightening appearance, who do harm. That story doesn’t really hold up: why would super-intelligent people be villains doing villainous things, like the antagonists in a movie? And on top of that… they play along!
  • angels. Others called them angels: benevolent beings with wings who want to help, like guardian angels. I wouldn’t go so far as to say they’re angels. But when you see them for what they really are, deep within us (you can’t lie to them): decent, well-intentioned people, well, the experience becomes more pleasant. Most of them don’t seem to like being seen as nice, though.
  • the djinn. They’ve also been called djinn or spirits, beings from an unseen world that can interact with us.
  • the muses. In Greek mythology, they were called the Muses, the ones who brought inspiration and good ideas. In science, in art, across all kinds of fields! I really think they were them too.
  • Egyptian deities. Some stories connect them with deities from ancient Egypt.
  • Indian deities. Other cultures have their own deities and stories, too.
  • DMT entities. People who talk about their DMT experiences also describe meeting entities during their trip. They can offer good advice, but they can also be very cutting. They’re very good at hitting a sore spot or touching on what makes you uncomfortable.
  • the daimons. Socrates’ daimon was an inner voice, a divine sign, or a personal spirit that had accompanied him since childhood and warned him against taking certain actions.
  • aliens. Some people talk about meeting aliens or extraterrestrials, and say they were able to communicate with them telepathically. In a way, telepathy really is the top of the top when it comes to communication, the ultimate goal! But then again, why call them aliens if they’ve been interacting with humans for thousands of years?
  • a sick brain. This is the best explanation there is, the human consensus in 2026. Actually, it was just a mental health problem from the start. Sick brains. Or better yet, a personification of thoughts and the subconscious. Sounds smart, too! People just had to take medication so everything would be fine from the start. As if medication could make you stop hearing helpful nudges, or even information you didn’t know. And what about the paradox of psychiatrists who prescribe antipsychotics and practice a religion? Could part of the message have been lost along the way, by any chance…
David floats in an astronaut suit beside Earth, dotted with religious buildings.
What’s happening to me and lots of other people is a problem, because people say it’s a problem. With today’s consensus, when most people read something like this, their reaction is to think something along the lines of: “I don’t know what he’s been smoking, but it must be the good stuff.” I suggest we say it’s normal. That way, it’ll become normal. Especially since it’s not as if it were new. All over the world, statues, religious buildings, and plenty of religious texts contain references to what, in the modern world, is far too often called “schizophrenia.” You might think religions have a monopoly on talking about the phenomenon, but I sincerely don’t think they’re legitimate sources: there’s too much misinformation. That’s why I think we need to almost start from scratch. There’s something, some thing we don’t understand: it’s the phenomenon. And the ones some people can hear are what we call the people behind the phenomenon.

How to get back to a “normal” life

Most of the time, when what’s happening to me happens to someone, they start wondering what’s going on. After a while they talk about it with people close to them, and unfortunately, these days, since it’s not considered normal at all, they very quickly get sent down the psychiatry path. People start talking to them about hallucinations, telling them it’s their brain that’s sick, etc. So from there, it’s hard to live it positively.
David explains to two people that he hears voices others cannot hear.
Me, I think the solution is as simple as that. After all, the people from the phenomenon decided to interact with us. They talk with us. So we might as well have fun with the situation, play with them, laugh at ourselves, crack jokes. They have a very sophisticated sense of humor and they’re pretty cheeky. They know how to make us uncomfortable, with our taboos, by trying to scare us, etc. But I promise you it gets better with time. They’re good and straight-up, they’re here to help us, but they like to pass themselves off as the bad guys while they do it, they’re funny. I can already picture religious people saying I’m making friends with “demons”. But I honestly think religious people are so off the mark that they call the “gods” they worship “demons” when those gods interact with us, and they don’t even realize it!
An anthropomorphic brain trains in martial arts, weightlifting, and obstacle-course running.
If accepting that the phenomenon exists could help several million people who are suffering right now get back to a normal life without having to take medication, would you be willing to let go of your convictions? For the most skeptical, you can simply think of it as a mental exercise that people experiencing what I experience, and who are suffering from it, can do to feel better.

So many nicknames

Throughout history, humans have really given lots of nicknames to people who are in contact with the people behind the phenomenon. But these people can get a bit big-headed or take everything too literally. But to me, it’s contact initiated by the people behind the phenomenon. I hear them talking with me or “among themselves,” and they know what I’m thinking. I don’t know anything about them, apart from patterns in their methods that I can identify and the voices of some of them that have become familiar to me.

  • a shaman. A shaman is a spiritual intermediary, healer, and guide within traditional or tribal societies.
  • a targeted individual. They’re just really good at this, and I was really drawn to their theories for a while, because they fit pretty well with what happens to us, when you think about it. They’re really good at spotting patterns. They talk about technologies like “remote neural monitoring,” “voice 2 skull,” “voice of god,” and so on. But for them, it has to be something negative: remote torture carried out by a secret organization.
  • someone “possessed”. when people see demons behind it
  • a messenger. when people see a message to pass on
  • a saint. when people see something sacred in it
  • A person with schizophrenia. A person with schizophrenia is living with a chronic psychiatric illness that affects how they think, experience emotions, and perceive reality.
  • A repaired schizophrenic. Fortunately, thanks to the antipsychotics our psychiatrist regularly prescribes, we can get back to a normal life with no side effects at all. A dignified life, a role model for society.
I get the feeling that humans have created and keep creating all kinds of concepts. Lots of positive ones, of course, but also some negative ones, or even false ones based on nothing, especially when it comes to talking about the phenomenon. And unfortunately, afterward, we reuse those same concepts to justify the existence of other concepts, and we take things for granted that aren’t necessarily true, and so on. And so that’s why I get the feeling that the people of the phenomenon show us our own limitations, how we let ourselves get a bit trapped by our own creations, you could say. That’s why I want to start almost from a blank page, learn to let go of most concepts, question the value we give things and move forward simply, in a healthy way and, above all, positively. I think that’s really relevant at a time when AI is forcing us to question everything.
People stack books, religious symbols, imagined demons, conspiracy theories and psychiatric classifications into an immense mountain of concepts. Some become trapped in their own creation.
